Source Photonics Announce 200G PAM4 EML Recognized by 2024 Lightwave Innovation Reviews and Ready for Product Release at OFC’24

The state of the art and reliable EML chips receive another industry win targeting next generation 800G and 1.6T transceiver modules for AI/ML/HPC connectivity.

West Hills and San Diego, CA – March 22, 2024 – Source Photonics, a global leading supplier of optical communication modules, today announces to receive the recognition by 2024 Lightwave Innovation Reviews Honorees for its single lambda 200G PAM4 EML high-speed lasers. This award will be presented at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference & Exhibition (OFC’24) on March 25, 2024, to be held at San Deigo Convention Center, San Diego, California, USA.

The 11th annual Lightwave Innovation Reviews saw technology developers submit products introduced or enhanced since March 2023 in various technology categories for review by esteemed and experienced panel of independent judges from the optical communication community. Source Photonics’ 200G PAM4 EML is being honored as a Lightwave Innovation Reviews High Score Recipient for “best in class” products in the optical components category.

The single wave 200G PAM4 EMLs launched by Source Photonics since OFC’23 last year represents the highest speed in the industry, increasing the single channel speed from 100Gb/s to 200Gb/s. It is a key core device for achieving the next generation of 800G and 1.6T pluggable optical modules. Key Judge’s comment states as, “This product is essential to the continued speed increases of the industry.”

The award from Lightwave marks the second industry win for Source Photonics’ 200G PAM4 EMLs following last year’s recognition from China Fiber Connect Forum 2023 (CFCP23) for innovative/best product of 2023. Source Photonics began production shipments of 100G single lambda PAM4 based 100G/400G transceivers when 400G industry adoption start to take off from 2021, and over 5.5 million high speed 28G/53GBd EML chips have been shipped so far. The newly released 100GBd EMLs enable 200Gb/s single lambda PAM4 signaling, remarking on the advent of 1.6T optical transceivers.
