West Hills, CA – 3/16/2017 – Source Photonics, a leading provider of optical transceiver technology, in cooperation with Semtech Corporation, a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, is pleased to announce the demonstration of a 53GBaud PAM4 compact ROSA capable of supporting a single lambda 100G QSFP28. The demonstration consists of an optical loop back from Source Photonics’ compact 53GBaud TOSA using a production grade EML laser and a 53GBaud ROSA built with Semtech’s GN1089 TIA. The combined TOSA and ROSA link supports a loss budget of 5dB and achieves better than 1×10-5 BER over the tested link.
“Semtech is pleased to provide support for the 53GB PAM4 ecosystem with its leading-edge GN1089 linear TIA” said Marika Herod, Senior Product Line Manager for Semtech’s Signal Integrity Products Group.
“This is an exciting demonstration pointing to 53GBaud technology being capable to address 100G with a quarter of the optical component count and four times the manufacturing capacity compared to current 100G solutions” said Mark Heimbuch, CTO of Source Photonics.
Source Photonics will be hosting a private demonstration at their booth number 3011 at OFC 2017 to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from March 21-23, 2017. To schedule an appointment to view the demo, please contact Jasmin Basal at firstname.lastname@example.org.
